What is the Gaslight Chorus?

The Gaslight Chorus is a group of male a cappella barbershop singers and is part of the Barbershop Harmony Society. We have been creating wonderful music for our audiences since 2001. Our singers are all ages and come from all walks of life. Our motto is "musical excellence in the Barbershop style" and we strive to bring that excellence to every performance.

We like to perform in and around our community. We perform almost anywhere, including parties, business meetings, churches, and theaters. We have been on the stage of the Muckenthaler Cultural Center several times and have performed at Disneyland twice. We offer quality family entertainment for a reasonable price.

We also enjoy competing in local and regional contests. We use our participation in contests to hone our singing and performance skills so that our public performances are always top drawer. The last time we were in competition, we earned 5th place out of 25 choruses.

Our director Phil Ordaz has performed in and coached many quartets and has earned a gold medal in chorus competition. He is an accomplished show producer, chorus director, music arranger and certified music judge for the Barbershop Harmony Society. The Gaslight Chorus is honored to perform many of Phil’s arrangements.

Our chorus is growing and we are looking for men who love to sing to join us. If that describes you, we invite you to visit us on any Tuesday night at 7:00 PM. Click here for driving directions to our rehearsal.
